Introduction
May flower is the lone flora which blooms in hard summer. When autumn tiptoes and
all the green is gone, it is only may flower which is seen everywhere. A flower
which emerges facing all odds. The moral is simple -If u dream u bloom.
Mayflower Media House is an umbrella organization for various kinds of Media
activity. Mayflower is the one stop center for all media activities and
a networking platform for media professionals. The organization has created
a space for media research, media fellowships, library and reference facilities
intending to create a healthy media and society. It has acted as a catalyst for
the online Media revolution in Kannada.
Mayflower Media House is a private limited company which consists of a broad
network of media professionals and practitioners. It is closely associated
with the mainstream and alternate and new media and engages in several activities
related to the media.
Mayflower media house is headed by Mr. G N Mohan. G N Mohan , senior Journalist,
writer and media critic , has more than 20 years of experience in mainstream
and new media. He started his media career by establishing swati
syndicates , a feature agency- an unique and novel experiment in Kannada journalism.
G N Mohan later joined Prajavani Kannada daily as a reporter for Mangalore-coastal
Karnataka region . From Mangalore he moved to Gulbarga bureau of
Prajavani group and was instrumental in setting and establishing Hyderabad
– Karnataka editions of the Prajavani – Deccan Herald news papers.
After 12 years of service in Prajavani G N Mohan shifted his focus to electronic
media and joined ETV Kannada news as Mangalore bureau chief . From there he was
elevated to the post of ETV Kannada channel news chief. After successfully heading
the ETV News for three years he quit ETV group to launch Mayflower Media house.
G N Mohan also worked with CNN channel as a part of their IPP program.
G N Mohan is also a well known writer. He has represented India in the international
youth conference held at Cuba. His travelogue on Cuba- ‘Nannolagina haadu
cuba’ has received Karnataka sahitya academy award. His poetry collection
“ preshnegaliruvudu Sheksperenige has received prestigious Pu Ti Na
award. Both these books are now text books for graduate and post graduate students
of different universities in Karnataka . He has penned several
books on media. Now he also writes a media column in popular daily Vijaya Karnataka.
